Description

A fabulous Georgian Revival cut glass preserve jar. The body is of rounded form, with strawberry cut diamonds to the sides and a cut star to the pedestal bases. There is a prism cut galleried edge to the top rim.The original matching domed lid has corresponding cutting with a star cut knop. There is a gorgeous silver hallmarked preserve spoon from the same date, completing the set. This attractive jar and spoon are a wonderful 'ready to go' gift idea, with an immediate practical use. Condition :- Excellent, with no chips or cracks to the glass and no dents or splits to the spoon.
Date :- Preserve jar c1900. Spoon hallmarked for Sheffield 1900.
Hallmarks :- Clear and readable.
Spoon maker :- Roberts & Belk.
Jar diameter :- 8.7 cms. (widest point).
Height :- 15 cms (to top of knop).
Spoon length :- 14 cms.
