Description

A stylish brooch from the early part of the 20th Century. This example is Norwegian in origin and is of sterling silver and attractive guilloche enamel. The enamel is in a lavender and features a central panel, flanked by two smaller panels either side. Silver filigree work is added into two cut outs and the brooch is secured via a hinged pin and C clasp. A charming and wearable piece. Dimensions below.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable. Marked 925S, with makers mark.
Maker :- Ole Nicolai Olberg. (b.1875 - d. 1954) workshop founded in 1907. Manufacturer of filigree work for export and, later, maker of enamelled items.
Date :- Circa 1925.
Width :- 5.2 cms.
Height :- 0.8 cm.
Depth :- 0.6 cm.
