Original Engraving by Alfred Kemp Wiffen 1896–1968
c1930 Art Deco
In good condition with frame (no glass for safety in postage)
Frame measures 31.75cm 14.86ins x 42cm 16.54ins x 1cm 0.39ins
Painter, draughtsman, printmaker, illustrator and teacher, born in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. After serving in World War I and a period farming in Nottinghamshire he attended Nottingham School of Art under the sculptor Joseph Else. From 1928 taught graphic arts at Liverpool School of Art, retiring in 1961. Exhibited RA, RCamA and Liverpool Academy both of which he was a member and with Deeside Art Group, of which he was president. Nottingham Art Gallery and Museum holds his work. Lived at Hoylake, Cheshire.
