'Studies In Naval History' by John Knox Laughton. Published by Longmans, Green and Co, London in 1887. First edition thus. Full tree calf binding by Bickers & Son, Leicester Square London. St Leonard's School crest gilt stamped to the front board (the similarities in design of the crest to the ones of Celtic origin indicate this is St Leonard's School of Fife, Scotland rather than Exeter, Devon). Five raised bands and green leather gilt stamped title panel to the spine. Light shelf wear commensurate with age in areas. Small nick to the bottom of the back board. Generally the whole volume remains in a good attractive condition externally. Marbled page edges. Prize plate to front pastedown. Bickers & Son binder's stamp to top of front flyleaf. All pages remain in an excellent condition; clean, bright and free from inscription.
