Description

A charming item of Georgian sewing ware. This is a lovely silver pincushion in the form of a swing handle basket.
The base is concave and the pierced fretwork body, has embossed leaves and flowers. The hinged handle has intertwined design. A delightful collector's piece. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits. The cushion is original.
Hallmarks :- Unmarked but tests as silver (not unusual for small items of Georgian silver).
Date :- c1820.
Height :- 4.3 cms (handle up).
Depth :- 2.5 cms.
Width :- 3 cms. (widest point).
