Victorian Carved Walnut Occasional Chair c.1860
A fine quality mid-19th century carved walnut chair, traditionally known as a nursing chair.
Shaped back with scroll-carved cresting and foliate detail, the upholstered back panel framed in crisp walnut carving. The generous seat similarly upholstered and set above a carved serpentine apron. Standing on cabriole front legs with carved detail and original ceramic castors; the back legs splayed.
Lovely colour and patina to the walnut. Structurally sound, with minor age-related marks and an old repair to the rear leg. Upholstery in good order.
