Description

A charming novelty brass doorstop, the handle modelled as the Lincoln Imp, dating from the late 19th century. The Lincoln Imp is probably the best known grotesque figure in Lincoln Cathedral. Legend has it that it was turned to stone by an angel for mischief.
My mum has a small model of the Lincoln imp which she is very attached to, and remembers visiting the cathedral when she was a child and searching for him. She’s rather keen on this one too…
Condition: I have cleaned this lightly but some marks and tarnishing remain - it could be polished further for a brighter/cleaner finish if desired, but I like it like this. Good condition.
