Description

An Edwardian silver stilton spoon with clear hallmarks for Sheffield 1904 and makers mark for Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall. The deeply curved bowl was specifically designed to scoop stilton cheese to prevent it from crumbling. This spoon has a good gauge of silver and is solid silver throughout (often the handle was made of a different material). It is highly decorated with lattice, scrolls and harebells, favoured designs in the Edwardian era, and indicating the status of it’s owners and importance to them of the quality of their tableware. In excellent condition.
