Description

A fabulous silver mounted cologne bottle from the end of the Victorian era. This superb example has a bell shaped body with extensive pierced silver overlay, featuring fretwork, flowers and four vacant cartouches . The silver lid is hinged and opens to reveal the original facet ball stopper. The glass body is cut with scallops and strawberry diamonds and the base with a multi-point star. A superior and practical collector's piece and a great gift idea. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no chips or cracks to the glass and no splits or dents to the silver. There is a small area of undulation to the lid, commensurate with age and use.
Hallmarks :- Clear and readable.
Date :- Birmingham 1897.
Maker :- Henry Matthews.
Height (to top of lid) :- 13 cms.
Diameter:- 9.5 cms. (widest point).
