Description

A charming set of 6 antique prints form Wheatley’s the Cries of London dating from circa 1920s. Marked “The Alphalsa Publishing Co Ltd London E.C.2”. The series was produced between 1792 and 1797, documenting street traders in 18th-century London. These decorative prints are displayed in verre eglomise frames with black reverse painted surrounds and gilt line edging.

Age and foxing to prints. Other wear and marks commensurate with age. Frames have been overpainted at some point.
