Description

A good example of a solid silver book form stamp case. It has a swivel hinge which allows the interior to swing out to access the stamps. It is a good quality piece and the interior has its original gilt lining. The outer case is engraved with enamelled ' Stamps'. There is a small loop on the side for attaching to a fob chain or chatelaine.
It is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1901 and the maker Crisford & Norris.
It is in very good condition for its age. There are some minor surface marks and general signs of age and use but no major damages and it displays well. The swivel hinge is strong and easy to use. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
