Description

This is a lovely Japanese Fukagawa porcelain dish in an attractive, rare colour palette depicting water birds in foliage. This has an attractive faux bamboo design frame to the edge with typical Oriental motif and a beautiful turquoise floral border framing the central oval painting. The dish is beautifully hand painted and is signed by the artist to the underside.
The piece dates from the Meiji period, around 1890 and is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration.
The dish measures 40 cms by 29 cms.
