Description
This is a set of six antique Baccarat Harcourt Versailles/1841 port or sherry glasses, produced since 1841 and still being sold in the larger sizes. This set does not carry the Baccarat maker's mark which was introduced in 1936 so they predate then and they would have had paper labels. They are mouth-blown and have polished out pontil marks on the bottom of the feet. The glasses are in excellent condition for their age. They show some age related wear and tear to the rims of the bases consistent with age and use. The glasses have ovoid-shaped bowls measuring 6.5 cm (2.6 inches) in diameter at the rims. The glasses have been blown in clear glass and then cut with petal flutes in the Harcourt-Versailles pattern. The bowls sit on six sided vertically facet cut stems with medial triple angular knops that lead to hexagonal feet which measure 6.5 cm (2.6 inches) in diameter. The glasses are 11.3 cm (4.5 inches) in height. The dimensions vary very slightly from glass to glass as should be expected of mouth-blown glassware. One of the glasses has a tiny (3 mm long) internal annealing crack at one of the points on the foot - this is the individual glass shown. There are no chips, other cracks, scratches or any obvious signs of restoration. They do NOT come in their original boxes. Each glass weighs in at 190 g. ( ~ 7 oz.). We sell through our own web site taking Paypal, bank transfer and debit/credit cards and ship worldwide. Internal Ref: 9214
