Description
A beautiful antique oil lamp dating from the late 19th Century. It is complete with its original brass burner, ruby red glass font, glass chimney and lovely etched glass globe shade with a cranberry tinge. It stands on an elaborate brass base with a corinthian column top and scrolling feet. The lamp is in good condition for its age and displays beautifully. There are some signs of age and use, some minor knocks and dents and some tarnishing on the brass but nothing detrimental. The burner is in good shape and the wick turners move smoothly. It has not been tested but I see no reason why it shouldn't work. The glass chimney and shade are in good condition with just a few small nibbles around the rim but no major damages. Approximate Measurements: Height to Burner : 22" (56cm) Total Height : 31" (79cm) Width of Shade : 7" (18cm) Base Diameter : 7 1/2" (19cm) The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
