Description

This is a very pretty, good quality, silver and tortoiseshell, tinted cut-glass dressing-table trinket pot or hair tidy. Made by Horton and Allday, Birmingham, 1922, it has all-round, facet-cut decoration and a star-cut base. The lid is colourful with delicate, harebell, pique decoration and it fits very well on its silver rim. In very good antique condition, there are no dents to the silver or cracks to the tortoiseshell. The hallmarks are slightly rubbed but readable. The glass has minor signs of use, but is also in good order.
Diameter at widest point: 8cm (3.25 inches)
Diameter of lid: 6.7cm (2.6 inches)
Height: 6.5cm (Just over 2.5 inches)
