Description
A good Early 19th Century Antique Georgian Blue and White Transfer Tea Plate from the Light Blue Rose Border Series, the Maker of which presently remains unidentified with certainty, depicting Wolseley Hall, Staffordshire, which country house was demolished in 1966. The source print for this view, dated 1 June 1821, was taken from Volume 4 of John Preston Neale's six volume work, "Views of the Seats of Noblemen and Gentlemen in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, published 1818 - 1829. The reverse with printed title, WOLSELEY HALL within a flower encrusted scroll cartouche.
