Description

An early 20thc watercolour of cattle watering in a landscape signed bottom left by Thomas Pyne (1842-1935), an East Anglian artist. The painting depicts a tranquil scene of cattle watering in a river in sweeping wooded parkland. The colours are autumnal, suggesting warm late summer. Thomas Pyne’s father was also artist but Thomas enjoyed success and exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1874. He became a member of the Royal Society of British Artist in 1881 and of the Royal Institute in 1885. He was known for oil and watercolour landscape work. He exhibited up to 1906. In very good condition - only one tiny foxmark top right.
