Description
Ebony Cheery wood and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane. The pommel to the top is turned cheery wood which is smooth and very tactile with super grain pattern. The silver collar is stamped with the London assay office mark and the date letter for 1939 and the makers mark HF or BF which I haven't been able to identify. Possible a small independent maker that's not listed. The shaft is ebony but surprisingly light weight although strong. The ferrule is original and made of brass and steel. It measures 92 cm 36 1/2 inches in length, the pommel is 4.8 cm 1 7/8 inches wide and 9 cm 3 1/2 inches long. A large pommel which is comfortable to hold and lean on. It's in very good condition for it's age but with some signs of age and use as you'd expect. The silver excellent with no splits or holes as you can see. Wear and signs of age and use to the shaft and ferrule but no damage or repairs. Perfect for an every day cane. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
