Large Antique Sycamore Dairy Bowl

Description

A large English sycamore dairy bowl dating from the early to mid 19th century. It has been turned from a single piece of wood and decorated with double incised lines.
It has a rich natural colour and has developed a beautiful patina through many years of use. It has a naturally imperfect shape with a slightly uneven rim which adds to its character. It has suffered extensively from woodworm through its life as can be seen in the photos. It has been thoroughly treated and doesn't concern us now. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
