Victorian Watercolour Portrait of a Bearded Fisherman (1892) A late Victorian watercolour portrait depicting an elderly fisherman in cap and coat, rendered with warmth and naturalism. The subject’s expression is gentle and reflective, painted in a soft, earthy palette typical of the period. Date: Inscribed lower left November 26th 1892 Medium: Watercolour on paper Framing: Set behind glass in a period moulded wooden frame Frame dimensions: 50.5 x 45.5 cm (20 x 18 in approx.) Condition: The painting is in good condition for age. The frame has some small losses to the moulded border and wear consistent with age. Provenance: With an old label to the reverse noting date and former location (Homedale School) Unsigned but competently painted, this is a pleasing example of late 19th-century British portraiture with character and period atmosphere.
