Description

Antique Elgin full hunter fob watch, 1917.
The watch has a 7-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 19,555,215 which dates it back to 1917. The movement is protected by an inner cover which has some marking where it has been opened in the past.
The watch measures 36mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 14kt gold filled and was made for Elgin by the Keystone Watch Case Company. The case is in good condition, small patches of gentle unevenness to the back but not too detrimental. The front of the watch has beautifully ornate initials, HR or RH.
The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside, there is a glass lens which has light marking but is very acceptable.
The signed dial looks good to the naked eye… a couple of very faint hairlines if viewed through a jeweller’s loupe.
The watch comes with a single Figaro style chain, 26cm long including the opalescent T-bar, which may well be agate,
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
