Type of Artwork: Original 19th Century Antique Engraved Map
Title: Cambridgeshire
Date of publication: Circa 1840.
Surface: Paper, engraved map with hand colouring.
Details: An original decorative county map of Cambridgeshire by Thomas Moule. Shows Cambridge, Ely, Wisbech, Newmarket and surrounding towns and villages, with roads, railways and county divisions. Decorated with views of Ely Cathedral and Wimpole Hall, heraldic shields, figures and an ornate Gothic border.
An attractive Victorian map for collectors of Cambridgeshire history or for framing.
Condition Report: Fair to good antique condition. General age-related toning, handling marks and edge wear, with some small tears and losses around the margins. Light staining and spotting in places. Reverse has age-related marks and an old pencil date annotation. The map remains colourful, clear and highly decorative. Supplied unframed. Please inspect photographs for full details.
