The first is an antique Jugendstil style copper and brass lidded jug or ewer crafted from copper in a warm tone and accented with brass on the elegantly curved handle and the ornate spout and lid and featuring a highly attractive Art Nouveau design in raised relief. The second is an English brass serving tankard in Arts & Crafts taste, also dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900 and features a long, serpentine handle to the rear opposite a broad polished spout. With maker’s mark to base for “JS&S”. Great examples of the metalworking artistry of the early 20th century.
