An Edwardian sterling silver vesta case or match safe of unusual long, rounded rectangular form. with hand engraved scroll decoration to front and back, with shield shaped cartouche to front with monogram JP. Hallmarked Birmingham, 1902 by maker Harry Hayes. In excellent condition with good tight and tight closing and spring, no dents or splits, some light wear. 6.5cm x 3.1cm x 1.4cm thick (not including suspension loop.
