Early 19thC Chinese Export Blue & White Tea Cup & Saucer Tek Sing Shipwreck

Brief Description:

This is a beautiful and fascinating early 19th-century Chinese Export Blue-and-White Porcelain Tea Cup & Saucer.

This marvellous piece spent 177 years on the seabed of the South China Sea, having sunk with the Chinese ocean-going junk ship, famously entitled ''Tek Sing''.

The vessel sank in 1822 with over 1600 souls lost.

The huge porcelain hoarde was discovered on the 2nd of May, 1999, by the famous British marine salvor Michael Hatcher.

Accompanying the wonderful dish is the original certificate of authenticity.

It also retains the original Tek Sing auction label on the base of each piece.
